Leah Kieffer
Senior Pelvic Health Physiotherapist
Special interest in Women’s and Children’s Pelvic Health
From Canada, Leah holds a Master of Physical Therapy and an Honours Bachelor of Health Science from the University of Western Ontario. Her professional career began in Vancouver where she worked in orthopaedics and post-surgical rehab. During her time there, Leah joined a team of Physicians for Peace volunteering in Haiti to assist in the rehabilitation of amputees caused by the earthquake.
Leaving Canada for Malaysia, Leah led a team of physiotherapists at a prominent sports physiotherapy clinic in Kuala Lumpur until her eventual departure to Singapore where she developed and implemented the musculoskeletal outpatient programme at Ang Mo Kio Thye Hua Kwan Hospital. It was then that she began her postgraduate training in Women’s Health physiotherapy.
Before joining Physio Down Under, she worked as the lead women’s health physiotherapist for a large private clinic in Singapore. Leah’s passion for Women’s Health as a specialisation evolved as a result of her own journey through childbearing and its associated challenges. She quickly became aware of the gap and overall disparity of support available to postpartum mothers leading to avoidable and needless health conditions.
Dedicating her career to improving the accessibility of information and advocating quality of care, Leah specialises in pelvic floor dysfunction and pre and postnatal conditions, she is a certified pre and postnatal exercise coach and a manual therapist.
Leah has since expanded her scope of practice to include paediatrics, treating bowel and bladder dysfunction in children and teens.
Fluent in English and Basic French.
