Rachel Tang
Senior Pelvic Health Physiotherapist
Special interest in Women’s and Men’s Pelvic Health
Born in Singapore but raised in Malaysia, Rachel was exposed to, and still currently loves a physically active lifestyle which has included (but is not limited to): hiking, running, swimming, martial arts and racket sports. Even though becoming a mother of three boys has reduced her time available for sport, her passion and interest in exercise has not waned. In fact, her own motherhood journey fuelled her current interest in helping and empowering women to achieve their goals, maintain a healthy active lifestyle during and after pregnancy, and through their entire lifespan.
Rachel started her physiotherapy career covering various sports teams and events before eventually settling in one of Singapore’s (Tan Tock Seng) major acute hospitals for 11 years. During that time, she picked up an array of skillsets and experience in treating musculoskeletal injuries and pain with a particular interest in sports injuries, hip, pelvis, spine, lower limb pain and post-operative rehabilitation.
Within that time, she headed the hospitals continence management clinic where she grew her experience in treating pelvic floor dysfunction in women’s and men’s health, which commonly included incontinence, prolapse and functional defecatory disorders. Over the past 3 years her clinical skillset has expanded to managing abdominal, back, sacrum and pelvic pain in addition to pain with urination, bowel movements and sexual activity related pains. Rachel strives to always treat clients to the highest degree of evidence-based treatment, compassion and empathy.
She is currently registered with Singapore’s Allied Health Professions Council, is a member of the Singapore Physiotherapy Association, and a voluntary board member for the Society for Continence Singapore.
